Dutton Social Care & Nursing are working with a client to recruit for a support worker to join their passionate and growing team. You will be working for a client who empower people with learning disabilities and autism to have more choice and greater control over their lives. As a company they support over 1600 clients across the country and their services range from residential, outreach, supported living and home care services.
As a support worker at the Alfreton service you will be responsible for supporting in two supported living houses and one outreach client. You must be FEMALE to be considered for this position due to the nature of some of the vulnerable people you will be supporting plus a car driver/owner. Your rota will be a mixture of working across both services. Shifts will be a mixture of 7-2.30/1.30-10.30 sleep ins/5pm-9pm sleep in and the odd waking night - it all really depends on what the service users are doing on a week by week basis however the role is a permanent post and is 35 hours per week. You must be a car driver to be considered for this role as you will be supporting people who have their own mobility cars so you will need to be able to drive to take your clients out in the community and on trips. The service users you will be supporting will have a mixture of needs including learning disabilities, mental health issues, communication difficulties, ABI, physical disabilities and some behaviours that challenge. A thorough induction and training is given, and you do not have to have paid experience, but you must have the right attitude and values - be passionate, kind, hardworking, supportive and reliable. Ongoing training will be given and access to qualifications.

If you haven't worked in care and support before please be aware that care is a 24/7 role and you will need to be slightly flexible around the needs of the service users. Please be aware that some of the clients with require personal care and support with bathing, showering and hygiene support.
